Temele Development Organization - (TEMEDO) is a Ugandan NGO founded in 2000, incorporated in 2003, and Nationally registered in 2007 (Reg. No. S.5914/4642). We are a non-partisan organization dedicated to promoting and protecting the economic, environmental, social, and cultural rights of vulnerable and marginalized communities.
With over two decades of experience, we have built a reputation as a trusted partner in advancing community-driven, rights-based development.
We conserve forests, wetlands, and biodiversity while restoring degraded ecosystems and promoting sustainable practices.
We enhance household food security through modern farming, school gardens, post-harvest management, and agribusiness.

Economic Empowerment for a Peaceful Land and Natural Resource Conflicts Transformation around Women Land Rights in Teso Sub region
Establishment and Strengthening of FFS for Increased Adoption of Climate Resilient and Gender Transformative Interventions for Women Economic Empowerment in Abim District. Contribute to economic empowerment of women including young women and eradication of feminized poverty in Karamoja (Abim).

Community Empowerment Program (CEP). “Promotion of School WASH and Community WASH’.
TEMEDO working in partnership with SNV implemented the WASH project in ‘’promotion of School WASH and Community WASH’’ in 18 primary schools in the sub counties of Arapai and Tubur in Soroti district.
Internally Displaced People’s reintegration, resettlement support and livelihood rehabilitation. The program was funded by EU through NUREP and was implemented in three districts of Soroti, Amuria and Kabeamaido. It targeted formerly displaced communities with focus on women, widows and youth headed households. The total number of direct beneficiaries were 2,250 households (7,500 people)
Program overall objective: Was to improve the coping mechanisms of resettling IDPs by providing production kits to 150 farmer groups to bridge the current production gap in Teso.
Main purpose: Was to increase production capacity of 150 farmer groups for self-reliance by undertaking tailored trainings to equip them with skills on modern farming, group dynamics and business.
Supporting the long-term solutions to hunger through the enhancement of agricultural productivity and the development of market infrastructure in Teso and Karamoja regions, Uganda Project.
TEMEDO also implemented FAO funded project “Supporting the long-term solutions to hunger through the enhancement of agricultural productivity and the development of market infrastructure in Teso and Karamoja regions, Uganda” Project (TCP/ UGA/3203”This project was implemented in Amuria and Katakwi districts.
TEMEDO with funding from VSF implemented a five year livelihoods Project aimed at creation of Livelihood and Strengthening of Community Based Organizations (CBOs) in Teso Region. Project area was Amuria District in18 groups covering 1,080 households.
TEMEDO in partnership With FAO of the United Nations implemented an ALREP project, Improving Food Security and Agricultural Livelihood of the War Affected Communities of the War in 96 FFS groups with a total of beneficiary households being 2,880 in Amuria district 2013.
This program was funded by World Vision-Uganda and it was intended to train and support schools, women, farmer groups and youth on sustainable agriculture, hygiene and sanitation, nutrition, organic farming and bio-intensive gardens. The project supported 295 active farming households, 80 youth from 4 groups, 200 women and men from farming communities and 15 extension service agents. The 295 households were drawn from communities in Arapai Sub County in Soroti District.
TEMEDO also worked in partnership with USAID-ACDIVOCA and implemented Food For Education (FFE) Project in Schools feeding program by promotion of parent led community participation in the school feeding program in 33 primary schools in Amuria and Katakwi districts 2013.
